Meet the Owners

Adrian Guerra was raised in New Boston, Michigan, by a hardworking and inspiring family. His father, a Mexican immigrant, served as a teacher in Detroit, while his mother, originally from West Virginia, ran a home-based salon. Adrian has spent his life in the Downriver area, building a strong work ethic rooted in his upbringing. He began his career as a machinist, dedicating 16 years to the trade, and has since spent over a decade working as an automotive test lab technician. A proud father of three adult children, Adrian enjoys camping, traveling, and diving into his passions for astronomy and sci-fi.

Corinne Folk was born and raised in Michigan, growing up between Rochester Hills and Warren. She comes from a blue-collar family—her mother worked as a USPS postal carrier, and her father dedicated his career to the City of Birmingham’s Department of Public Works. Corinne became the first in her family to earn a college degree, graduating from Oakland University with a bachelor’s in English while working full-time. She spent 11 years building a successful career with Fifth Third Bank before transitioning into the automotive industry in 2016, where she gained the opportunity to travel globally and lead international teams. Outside of work, Corinne enjoys entertaining, volunteering, true crime, and spending time with her beloved boxer, Walter White.

 

Our Story

Adrian and Corinne met in late 2024 and quickly built a life rooted in shared values, ambition, and creativity. Through conversations about financial independence, building multiple income streams, and creating a path toward early retirement, the idea for Set the Scene Events Co. was born.

What started as a vision has grown into a business that reflects their shared passion for bringing people together. Set the Scene allows them to serve their community while building something meaningful and scalable. Today, the focus is on providing high-quality event rentals—but the future holds even more, from mobile bar services (Adrian’s passion) to full-service event planning and coordination (a longtime interest of Corinne’s).
